Swans display more aggression to fellow swans than other birds, new research shows. [1] Isn’t that always the case? How can we ever be mad at someone else? The only person we can be angry at is someone we know. Just look at the mirror and you will find it.

Οι κύκνοι επιδεικνύουν περισσότερη επιθετικότητα στους άλλους κύκνους από ότι σε άλλα πουλιά, σύμφωνα με νέα έρευνα. Οι ερευνητές διεξήγαγαν μια πρώτη-του-είδος μελέτη που σχεδιάστηκε για να διερευνήσει τη συνδεσιμότητα του εγκεφάλου σε 130 είδη θηλαστικών. Τα ενδιαφέροντα αποτελέσματα, σε αντίθεση με τις διαδεδομένες έως τώρα εικασίες, αποκάλυψαν ότι τα επίπεδα συνδεσιμότητας του εγκεφάλου (δηλαδή η αποτελεσματικότητα της μεταφοράς πληροφοριών μέσω του νευρικού δικτύου) είναι ίδια σε όλα τα θηλαστικά, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των ανθρώπων. Οι πληροφορίες θα γίνουν κατανοητές. Στο τέλος εμείς και όλοι οι άλλοι θα γνωρίζουμε τα πάντα.

Philosophy Wire: (Common) Brain.

Researchers conducted a first-of-its-kind study designed to investigate brain connectivity in 130 mammalian species. The intriguing results, contradicting widespread conjectures, revealed that brain connectivity levels (namely the efficiency of information transfer through the neural network) are equal in all mammals, including humans. [1] Brain. So unique. So common. We believe it means everything. But we do not notice of our heart crying. Information will be processed. Information will be understood. At the end we and everything else will know of everything.

And we will not notice that small fly flying nearby.

And we will be startled!

Philosophy Wire: Placebo… Body… Spirit… Nothing…

A research exploring the strange boundaries of the placebo effect has turned up another mysterious oddity: placebos have the power to reduce neural markers of emotional distress, even in cases where people have been told in advance they are only taking a placebo, and not an active drug. [1]

Obviously the spirit affects the body.
We think it is amazing that someone feels better when he just thinks of it.
But the real mystery is the opposite!

Why do we feel worse when we do not even think that we are worse?

Obviously the body defines the spirit.
Stop thinking about reasons.
Look at things which happen without them.
Only there will you meet life.
Balancing on a trembling rope.
Its triumph might be a reason to cry for…

If everything affects everything.

What is left for nothing?
